Waiting Poem

I am neither hot nor cold
No, worse than cold am I
I’m tepid, temperate, lukewarm, stale
No laughter and no cry

I wait
I wait
I wait
I wonder

I hope, I pray, I listen and ponder

I wait
I wait
I’ll wait some more
Until I’m handed a key to the door

What’s worse than heat and frigid cold?
It’s nothing, it’s passive,
Dull, flat and bored

Stony, indifferent
Apathy in action
I want fire and ice
I want flames in my passion

The dreary day adds
Zero to the cause
So I wait
I wait
in a spiritless pause

Something can happen
Something good for great
To make matters move
And until then I wait.
