Whole Heart – A Poem

I hold my half-heart in my hand
To find its opposite

The edges fray in tattered shreds
A missing half, a perfect fit

I hold my half-heart in my hand
It is my offering

Its smell is sweet, its burden light
Its voice, like morning, sings

I hold my half-heart in my hand
I match it to its mate

The puzzle fits together
One whole two halves create
