Slumber (Poem)

Awake, oh sleeper
rise up and revive
For once we were dead
but we are alive!

This slumber has smothered
and stifled my bones
Lift up and dance
and shake off the stones

Oh dry bones, arise
from heels up to shoulders
remove the chains
and cast off the boulders

Leap and praise and
Receive the ring
this surprising gift
this grace from the king

Who came to the road
with love and not hate
I was lost but I’m found
we now celebrate

Awake, oh sleeper
rise up and revive
for once we were dead
but we are alive!
