Broken Stars (Poem)

The sun downs in the dale,
Olympus towers above;
King of hearts dons his veil
and awaits his true love

Black night, darkness falls
Stars luster low;
the wind hears Beauty’s call
and swiftly brings her below

They embrace, the young lovers
for the night will soon rest
and dawn’s sun will discover
the Queen green and obsessed

Love’s Beauty does deter
It’s too strong for a man;
Armed with arrows and zephyr
to overcome the jealous plan

For love she’ll risk Hell
and return with a chest;
her heart’s hand wipes the spell
of an everlasting rest

In the valley they’ll stay
where their true love first grew;
Ceaseless love, night into day
love as fresh as the dew.
